Clugston Distribution has grown turnover by 5% to 16.1m, with profits totalling 400,000 before interest for that 2015-16 financial year.
The company, a part of the Scunthorpe-based Clugston Group, attributes its success to some clear strategy on to be a superior quality tanker operator, whilst specialising within the five key elements of fuels, bulk powders, bulk food, steel as well as commercial vehicle workshop activities in partnership with Renault trucks.
Since launching a completely new strategy next year, Clugston Distribution’s revenue has increased by 63%. Recently this company invested 1.2m in further developing its tanker fleet capabilities now has 20 fuel tankers on the highway alongside its cement and bulk food tankers.
David Heath, distribution director at Clugston Distribution said: “The 2015-16 financial year has become one of the company’s best. Overall, profit grew steadily throughout 2015, primarily because of maintaining simple but effective operations in markets that your company understands well.
“We make an exit from loss-making markets whilst strategically focussing on expanding business in key growth markets, such as a deal with invest within the fuels sector, where we now have recently expanded our geographical reach by opening a Midlands depot near Melton Mowbray.”
