Turner settles divorce, so Issa won't be deposed

Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) and the estranged wife have settled their acrimonious divorce case, which means fellow GOP Rep. Darrell Issa will never be deposed in the event that.

Turner and the wife, Majida Mourad, are kept in an ugly divorce fight since last May. The couple were married in Dec. 2015. Turner has long been seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars from Mourad – a wealthy lobbyist and former congressional aide – within divorce settlement.

POLITICO reported a few weeks ago that Turner handed Issa a letter from Turner’s attorneys stating they depose the California Republican as part of the case. There were speculation for months on Capitol Hill about Issa’s alleged role during the breakup of Turner’s marriage, but Issa denied any loving relationship with Mourad.

“Majida Mourad and Congressman Michael Turner started to an image resolution of all matters bewteen barefoot and shoes, and would like 1 another the ideal inside their future endeavors,” said an assertion from lawyers both for sides. “Neither party can have any longer comment and asks the privacy during this matter be respected.”

No financial arrangements were disclosed with the attorneys.

The settlement ends what might have been an awkward situation for the lawmakers and House Republicans.

Issa insisted he done no problem together with never been needed for Mourad. Issa said the 2 main are already friends for several years and share Lebanese-American heritage.

“As far as I know she has been completely faithful to her husband and you just know, certainly I’d personally have nothing with regards to anything there,” Issa told ABC News. “She’s good quality denial, and today I realize that he’s not claiming that. In Ohio, you may claim infidelity. He didn’t.”
