New home Price Index reports rise in prices Magazine

The first publication of the new UK House Price Index (HPI) shows house price growth at 8.2% for Year to April 2016. The HPI is really a new index which combines figures on the Office for National Statistics and Land Registry in an attempt to provide a uniform method to obtain data to your housing industry.

Patrick McCutcheon, Head of Residential Sales at Dacre, Son & Hartley that has 21 offices in Yorkshire, said: “We welcome the latest HPI. There’s a plethora of indexes very often contradict one, so combining two teams of figures will hopefully solve the photo within the market’s position. However, general statistics will not replace first-hand market knowledge gained on the floor here in Yorkshire.”
