JOHANNESBURG- South Africa’s wheat crop rose by one-third to 1.9 million tonnes in the 2016 season, the greatest harvest in six years, as improved rainfall boosted yields, a government agency said on Friday.
This season’s crop is approximately 100 000 tonnes larger than 2 million tonnes reaped this season, the Crop Estimates Committee said in their final assessment with the harvest.?
